A Merdeka street shooting outing in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Image captured must be in B&W… using only 50mm lens… which I don’t have… But 35mm on Pen E-PL1 is close to focal length of 50mm in DX body.

Its been a yearly event for me and fellow photographers to do an outing during Ramadhan. This year we do an outing at Zoo Negara.

Saya mula menceburi industri perkahwinan dengan videografi… sekian lama bertumpu pada fotografi… terasa ingin mencuba kembali videografi perkahwinan. Setelah berbulan2 membuat kajian ke atas alat perakam video DSLR… saya shortlist pada 2… Panasonic GF1 & Canon EOS 550D. Setelah muktamad dgn pilihan GF1… saya terbaca review kelebihan E-PL1… kemudian terus membelinya (Pen E-PL1 Double Zoom Kit).

Merakam video secara “full manual”, adaptor untuk “stereo microphone SEMA-1″ & “internal stabilizer” adalah kelebihan E-PL1 berbanding GF1. Dari aspek fotografi… Olympus terkenal dengan warna natural serta kelebihan “dynamic range” berbanding GF1. Pada awalnya EPL1 menerima kritikan pada kelajuan AF-nya… tetapi Olympus telah membaharui “firmware” versi 1.1… AF E-PL1 kini setanding GF1… malah jika menggunakan kit lens GF1… E-PL1 mengatasi kelajuan AF GF1 (http://www.dpreview.com/news/1004/10042202olypenfirmware.asp). Keupayaan ISO tinggi pada E-PL1 adalah setanding D90.

Salah satu sebab saya tolak EOS 550D kerana koleksi lensa Nikkor yg sedia ada… format “micro fourthird” pada Panasonic & Olympus mempunyai banyak jenis adaptor… harganya lebih murah berbanding adaptor Canon utk lensa Nikkor jenis G (tanpa Apeture Ring). Fungsi AF tiada jika menggunakan adaptor.

Gambar di atas menggunakan adaptor pada Nikkor 35mm F1.8. Adaptor yg dibeli dari Hong Kong… boleh mengawal bukaan “aperture”. Saya rasa gambar F1.8 di E-PL1 lebih sharp bebanding pada D90/D5000.

Berbanding Pen EP1 & EP2… Olympus telah sertakan “on-board flash” pada E-PL1. Apa yg menarik, rekaan flash tersebut membolehkannya di”bounce”kan. setakat ni tiada “on-board flash” pada DSLR boleh di”bounce”.

Banyak lagi selok-belok E-PL1 yg perlu diselami… pandangan awal… kelebihan “full manual control” pada HD video E-PL1… adalah 100x lebih baik daripada apa yang D90/D5000 mampu lakukan. Tak pernah sekalipun saya berupaya rakam video HD pada D90/D5000 sehebat video diatas. Apapun E-PL1 tidak mampu menandingi kelajuan & “responsiveness” sebuah DSLR.

Jika pergi ke Penang jangan lupa singgah ke Ali Burger Corner di Taman Tun Sardon, Gelugor. Burger Oblong terbaik di Utara… ada yg kata tersedap di Malaysia.

Once again AmBank held a fishing competition at Kelong Acheh, Mersing, Johor. This is the 2nd time its being held here… and just like the 1st time… THERE ARE NO FISH!!!!

However this is a nice place to relax… the best thing came from this place was the served food… never stop. Breakfast, tea break, lunch, hi tea, dinner & supper. The only things that eat the bait were us the participants.

This is my sister’s OUM convocation day (5th Session) at Dewan Merdeka PWTC on 16/11/09. The scroll was given out by the Pro Chancellor Tan Sri Azman Hassan.

I bump the ISO1600-2000… & the freezing air-conditions make my Sigma 70-200 F2.8 100% back focus about 1 feet. When I brought to camera repair shop to check it… its work perfectly fine… near 100% accuracy. Never faced this kind of situation before… now I’m worry for future wedding job in a cold freezing hall.

The event held at Sea Lion Fishing Pond No.3, Klang North Port. Possibly, for the first time ever, a lady won the competition with a catch of 2.75kg.

The infamous photography accessories supplier store, Digicolor at Mutiara Complex organized a photography festival with its main objective is to introduce it’s own modeling agency. Photographers are invited to participate in photography contest by snapping picture of the runaway models.

This is my long awaited & for the 1st time photographing a fashion show. Lesson from this experience… location, location, location! Got to come really early to get the best seat… which is at the very front.

Its the time again… AmBagus 2009. Held at the regular place, Restoran Seri Melayu. MCed by AC Mizal… the guest stars this year are Faizal Tahir, Noryn Aziz, Dj Uno & Sham Kamikaze. The judges are Roslan Aziz, Ogy Ahmad Daud & Lah VE.
